Through research and intensive monitoring the KLEIN KAROO HALLMARK OF QUALITY-label guarantees a virtually fat-free meat, which is also low in calories and cholesterol and extremely rich in protein.

KLEIN KAROO ’s unrivalled facilities include two state of the art abattoirs used to exclusively slaughter ostriches. The KLEIN KAROO ostrich abattoirs were designed to comply with stringent hygiene controls stipulated by all importing countries. All slaughtering takes place under the supervision of a team of inspectors from the South African Directorate of Veterinary Public Health, who works closely with their overseas counterparts to ensure all international health regulations are met continuously. Slaughtering is also carried out according to Muslim requirements and certified as Halaal by the Muslim Judicial Council.
